Novel Writing

Using the pen name "Embee," Stegner self-published her first novel, Tess Embers, as an 8th grader. Her second novel, When Winters Cross, was released about a year later. In the summer of 2015, The Bug Zapper was released, a result of NaNoWriMo. Stegner has been interviewed by local TV stations, newspapers, and radio shows. She has also hosted book signings, given presentations to libraries and classrooms, and participated on a teen innovations panel.

Journalism

As Managing Editor of her high school student newspaper, Stegner managed a team of ~15 writers, edited and tracked progress of ~40 stories per month. On staff the year Spilled Ink was inducted into Colorado Student Media Association’s hall of fame along with three other high school print news publications.

Stegner has been hired to write articles for publications including VOYA and HelloGiggles.
